Anchises, a retired academic, is an amateur historian. Born in New England in 1931, he has lived in Addis Ababa, Boston, Jerusalem, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, and San Diego. He and his wife now live in Brooklyn. They are the parents of two and the grandparents of four.
